Aum busted! Plans for steroid sales to MLB put on hold

Postby Captain Japan » Tue Feb 22, 2005 3:04 pm

Ex-Aum member gets 3 years for steroid sale
Daily Gomiuri Shimbun
The Tokyo District Court on Friday sentenced a former Aum Supreme Truth cult member to three years in prison, suspended for five years, for selling a cream that contained steroids without a license.

Kiyoshi Nakano, 37, of Tachikawa, western Tokyo, was fined 2 million yen by the court for fraud and a violation of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law.

The court found the used car dealer conspired with Takashi Inoue, 36, former leader of the cult's Tokyo training center, to sell the cream to 990 people, claiming it was a medicinal drug made exclusively from natural ingredients to treat allergies.

The two earned about 23 million yen between February 2003 and April 2004 from the sales of the cream, according to the ruling.

Inoue is on trial for separate charges.

What Bonds told BALCO grand jury
SFGate.com
Barry Bonds told a federal grand jury that he used a clear substance and a cream supplied by the Burlingame laboratory now enmeshed in a sports doping scandal, but he said he never thought they were steroids, The Chronicle has learned.

Federal prosecutors charge that the Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative, known as BALCO, distributed undetectable steroids to elite athletes in the form of a clear substance that was taken orally and a cream that was rubbed onto the body.

Well at least Aum is no longer selling "medicines" made from "natural ingredients" like Asahara's old bathwater, perhaps the steroids were an improvement.

What bothers me more is why Aum is allowed to sell ANYTHING, even pencils from an old tin cup like panhandlers on the street. And haven't they hung any of those bastards yet?

I think I remember at least two got offed so far. But yeah, fuck them Aleph or whatever it is they call themselves now. They shouldn't be allowed to exist at all in Japan anymore than Al Qaida should be able to function openly in America. Anyone who's a member should be executed. If unleashing sarin on the Tokyo subway doesn't indicate a threat to national security I can't imagine what does.

Yeah, but if the cream didn't cure the coughing, they would develop huge lungs and rib muscles.. Oh, but maybe the quick repetition of covering their mouths would create the biceps..

Did you read Murakami's "Tokyo Underground"? The book is a litte tiring in its repitition but it is interesting nonetheless. One of the points was: being a member of Aum didn't necessarily mean an approval/knwledge of the use of sarin. It was really just as small number of the group who were involved.

Well, I wouldn't go quite that far, it's pretty clear that a large part of Aum was victimized by the elites. I've been reading the English version of Murakami's "Underground," and while the book is highly abridged, it seems that the last half is new material that wasn't in the original book, it was published serially in magazines as "Post-Underground," and it's interviews with ex-Aum members. The stories are horrible, there's one woman who tried to get away, so they put her in confinement and gave her electroshock, she can't remember anything that happened in the Aum compound. Others were shocked or refused to believe that Aum did the attacks, that's how far outside the inner circle they were, or perhaps that's how self-deluded some people can be. But Murakami is pretty clearly showing that Aum members were a lot of stupid people, but only a few of them were actively evil, and those are the ones that did the attacks. Anyway, I'm still cogitating over the books, the new stuff is pretty startling, now I've got to see if there's a separate publication of "Post-Underground" in Japanese, with more detail.

Oh, and Captain Japan, steroids aren't just for big biceps. My doctor gave me some steroid cream for itchy, dry winter skin that was driving me crazy. Apparently my skin is a bit allergic to a new fabric softener I bought. Steroids are in lots of stuff, like OTC creams such as Cortizone. They're good for skin allergies, but I don't think they're going to do much for allergies like hay fever, which I presume was the intended Aum market.

Well I'm talking about people still in the cult after they did it. They should for sure be killed. As for those in the cult when it happened, would you really miss them? Hang 'em high!

ah, well, I don't mean to spoil your fun, but maybe some people using legit steroid creams (like me) could get freaked out. Just thought I'd be clear about it.

Yeah, Bonds isn't someone I'd cheer for. To maybe bring this post back to Japan, I remember when a weekly caught him going to a soapland two years ago during the MLB tour. I wonder if it was staged. I should dig out that mag and scan it.

Everybody's cheering for the 'roid ragin' MLB stars. Did you hear how Giambi got a huge ovation at Yankees' Spring training? That guy blatantly admitted to taking roids.

It looks like the "Soap" sign is attached to the adjacent building. Did the article say he was in a Soapland? Maybe that was just a restaurant or something?

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he has no regrets having used steroids to pump up his bodybuilding career.

That really sets a nice a nice example for the kids, odesn't it?

I used to know a guy who played football at a major university and he told me he knew a guy on the team who had to shoot 'roids right into his own nutsac before a date just to get his package to expand back to normal size. Poor Mrs Schwarzenegger... cause I know that sexist prick doesn't use his tongue.
