Does the national govt. subsidize the local education boards to help pay for ALT's? I have heard that the govt. subsidizes each BofE. And that it is around 500-600 man yen for each teacher. Is this true?
Thanks,
Japanguy

The number of ALTs in a town reflects upon its political influence- why do you think they are all in rice-country and not Tokyo?

not *this* eikaiwa. in fact, my taxes, like yours, go to paying for this boondoggle of a program. nothing against the jets, many i've met are nice people, but the program is a huge waste.

If you have some kind of link to evidence I would be amazed. Because even when working direct with a BOE it's hard to get past 4 million as an individual. I'm not calling BULLSHIT I can believe it, but 8 million...No disrespect
