Sorry omae mona my thread came across the wrong way. I think you took it as though I wanted to work, but that isn't the case. I was wondering how often this type of thing happens, as I have heard it is common. My girlfriend's friend is looking at going to a private english teacher, and I want to make sure that she goes somewhere good, and not to someone who is breaking laws etc. My *3 days without sleep* due to assignments obviously showed through. Apologies for wasting your time.

Thank you to 'dimwit' for your answer, it did help.[/b]

Teaching privately under the radar screen is something that a large number of foreigners do in this country whether it be JETs who are not supposed to teach on their visas or NOVA teach whose contracts specifically ban private teaching.

Generally, follow students are often the first place to look for recruits. I woulldn't advertise publicly as this my open up enquiries as to you status.

Good Luck!

It's been about 8 years since I left Nova. Have they started trying to block teachers from picking up privates? They didn't used to...

To be honest I am not 100% sure, but many eikaiwas do.

hey, Spyder, you may want to remove the personally identifiable information from your sig and profile. We know the Ministry of Justice's Immigration Division has a dedicated team of 4-5 guys who read fuckedgaijin.com daily to look for public admissions from visa violators.

Anyway, depending on the type of students you want, you might want to follow in the footsteps of Monte Sensei, who can be found wandering Tokyo handing out flyers with the url for his home page: www.montesensei.com

that's funny! you go to the guy's site and the first pic in the gallery is of him with his shirt off with a come hither look on his face. basically this guy is selling sex, and I bet he's gotten so much at this point he's bored. nice idea. I think I'll go with the blonde highlights too and get my flyers done up. :D

Gosh, spyder, I was just joking! Granted, I'm not very good at it, but that's the nature of most of the messages on FG, whether or not there's a smiley emoticon. There was nothing wrong with your question. Some of us just have nothing better to do than post silly links when we don't know the real answer to a question.

Holy shit OM, I think you made the guy publicly shit a brick!! Might have cut a few years off his lifespan but certainly gave the rest of us (or only me?) a hilarious start to the day!

Damn, I actually feel bad! 8O

Honestly, if J-Immigration were truly reading this web site, they would have announced a return to pre-Meiji era immigration policy by now.

I lot of people go over to Japan on a tourist visa with every intention of getting a job. Once they have found an acceptable job they going to Korea for a quick holiday/get the proper visa stay.

If the person is only intending to stay for a short time as a tourist you shouldn't have any problem with immigration as they are far more worried about people overstaying visas. If immigration were interested in kicking people who were working contrary to the conditions of their visas, Japan would empty out relatively quickly. :D

Work in general shouldn't be a problem if the perswon is payed cash on the barrel and, as I said before, they are discreet.

Well, I'll give Monte-sensei credit for not just being a POS charisma man. Apparently he's set swimming records:

If he actually wrote the Japanese on his site that's good for him, too. Many teachers never bother to learn it.

Of course no English teacher in Japan has ever lied in the name of shameless self-promotion. ]BULLSHIT[/b] filter multiple times.

Reminder to myself. Never advertise for students on the internet.

Man every page of that site is a gem. :P

I love the bit about his heroes. I knew at least one of his heroes would be a dead nobody. The dead hero cliche shows that you are really a caring kind of guy.

I'd been meaning to post it since a year ago when Mrs. Omae Mona came home from a trip to the ward office holding a flier, saying "there was this scary, creepy guy.."
