Japan Times: Japan to host 2007 American Football World Cup
Japan has been named the host of the 2007 American Football World Cup, the Japan American Football Association said Tuesday. The International Federation of American Football has finalized the decision to hold the third World Cup in Japan, the only bidder for the quadrennial tournament, JAFA officials said...Europe, Asia-Oceania, North America and South America will each send one team to join host Japan in the event. JAFA officials said the United States, which did not take part in the previous two World Cups, may play in 2007. Japan won both of the World Cups held so far -- in Italy in 1999 and in Germany in 2003.
