Do they have a stamp card for 10% off angioplasty after 30 or so McRibs?

In the states, McRib was really awesome and they use thick BBQ sauce, but when they were selling it in Japan it was dryer than the Sahara desert! Very little sauce, No thick juicy onions or pickles and NO grain bun, they dose some Mayo on it and that's it! Pathetic. I'll pass on the Japanese version, just wait until I get to the states to get the real McCoy!

The QP is as good as it gets for McD's, it ain't a "Whopper" but it's decent. McRib Japanese style on the other hand is just downright nasty to the core. McD's doesn't have the best food, but in Japan, compared to the U.S. Japan's McD's is THE absolute worst. Their monthly burger versions are something of legend.
Salsa, tortilla chips with kidney beans? I come on, who comes up with these horrible ideas. Japanese generally can't make a burger properly and that's the fact.
In the states, McD's does carry healthier choices of sandwiches, huge selections and lower calorie meals and they do have pretty good salads.

Sorry Xen, but I am gonna have to take issue on this one. Their burger specials are almost always crap, as you state. But the particular one you mention above (possibly the Big America Texas 2, if memory serves) was a stroke of genius. A nice generous serving of nachos, crammed between your hamburger patty and the bun? Fking brilliant! I don't understand why they haven't introduced it in the U.S. It should be on the permanent menu.

You are joking right? The American Texas 2 was THE and I mean, THE biggest insult to Hamburger, I just don't know how else to put it. Anyone thinks like that doesn't know what a burger should be be like.

1) Tortilla chips- if you want that, just buy or make a taco. Remember]Kidney Beans[/B]- either as a side dish with Chicken (trust me) or with some rice and or corn bread with ham hocks, cat fish, the occasional T-bone. Never on a burger!!

3) Beef patty- Sadly Miki Dees beef patties are nothing to rave about, fried, dull and dry, but on this burger, the Japanese get the Gold medal for the worst fuck up, since the invention of the burger! Texas 2 was as dry as Texas itself. Not winning ANY big fans here.

4) Sauce- if you are attempting to put a sauce on a burger, it should be smooth and thick, NEVER watery and over tangy, because that's the only thing you will remember, the sauce and not the burger. The sauce on that piece of crap was designed for pasta, not for burgers.

5) Pre-packaged onions- Hey, don't be cheap!! If can't get real onions, then don't put fake ones on them either. Some of us have serious pride!!

6) Buns- This one is a real conundrum. What do Japanese people have agains t "whole grain?"

Sorry, but all those burger specials that Miki Dees had were like purposely tried and failed experiments. It's like they were just in a hurry to get the product out and not care about even the slightest hint of quality. Japan needs to seriously go back to the drawing board or study, really study as to what a real burger should taste like.

Have to agree the Texas II was pretty horrible though the original Texas burger was nice. Those limited burgers are always hit or miss though.

As To Japanese MickieDee's, always seems like things are put together better and more consistently (TIJ so nothing surprising here) but I would have to agree that, just like when Wendy's was here, whoever decided to skimp on something when setting up how much to add, it usually made for something dry and tasteless.

the only japanese made burger i liked from MikieDee's was the mega tamago...

i am not keen on putting eggs on my burger... but that was tasty...

sauce was just mayo and pepper
loads of cheese
not too much rabbit food
was even more delightful if you put some fries on it too...

now that was bomb

I've never had a burger in Japan that was good. Kuiaina Burger used to be passable but it's gone waaaaaay down hill. I've been to a few of the "gourmet" burger shops in Tokyo that people rave about. They've all sucked.

I've never heard of Pinks but that's probably because I haven't been to LA since I was 8 years old. Are their dogs all beef?

Ah, one of my all-time favorite topics... the world-class atrociousness of McDonald's in Japan.

Anyone noticed how they reduced the size of their buns to reduce costs/raise prices?

Here is a McMuffin. Looks good, huh?

Image

Here is how big it really is. It's like a toy McMuffin.

Image

My McDonalds sucks. It's one of the nicest and newest Mac buildings I've seen. Beautiful two story, a stand alone building. They closed the entire 2nd floor (seating for about 60 in wide booths and tables) to "save energy" (just another way to save costs...) and people have to eat standing up downstairs.

I counted 16 people behind the counter one day near lunch time. They have never had more than one register open (staffed by some new, slow, pimply faced teenager who couldn't operate the POS system) and customers are routinely lined up outside the door, but they never open another register. Sixteen people stumbling all over themselves in the kitchen doing nothing but busywork.

Business has dropped off now (and I think they're probably happy that they don't have to deal with pesky customers) so they wait is down to 30 minutes. They still have the lights off, A/C off and closed off the 2nd floor. It's 5 Coligny's on the crazy scale.

I don't eat there, but tried some new chicken burger thing they started last month at a different Mac and it was awful. God, I hate their fries, too.

If they really wanted to do something to save energy, they could try this: Make a system at every table that harnesses the rotational energy used by millions of customers every day as they turn around the french fry holder to eat them. (For Japanese newbies: business culture requires that the company logo be facing the customer for all items on the tray. The fry holder has the arches and name oriented with the opening (fries) at the top. You have to turn the paper thing around to get at the fires at the table. If they weren't such Coligny's they would have enough brain cells to figure out that they could invert the printing of the logo and name and save everyone a lot of time...)

They must throw away at least $1 million worth of sugar per year by not having a spark of intellect to ask the customer if they want it, rather than just giving everyone sugar and white soy stuff masquerading as cream for all the coffee they serve.

You know what? I really think Mos Burger is pretty good. I've never had a bad experience at one and I like it.

they still had the selection of cheese (great), but the size just seemed... different...

my wife said that they got smaller and i knew i wasn't going crazy then (2 chu hais down the hatch before 1200... ya buddy)

LOL, I'd never go there if I could avoid it without much effort but when there is one on your doorstep, you're too lazy to cook, have no lemur with you that night to cook for you, and you're tired of Matsuya, MickiDee's is like the last resort booty call to handle your....errr hunger...and you don't have to kick her out afterwards. :D

You've obviously never ordered anything with mayonnaise included on it. It becomes a fucking mayonnaise burger. TIJ so don't say you can order it without the mayo. I like MOS in general though, usually decent looking lemurs up in there as well.
