Soon you don't need to be far from your TV ever again..

Samsung announces handset with TV tuner

18 September 2003 -- PMN -- Samsung has announced two advanced GPRS handsets, including one featuring an integrated NTSC television tuner. The products, launched at an event in New York, will be available in the US later this month and will subsequently be launched in the US and Asia.

The clamshell SGH-P705 uses a 260,000 colour TFT display to show television pictures, which can also be captured and sent as multimedia messages. The SGH-E715, also a clamshell, has an integrated VGA digital camera and flash. Both handsets feature OLED sub-displays, WAP 2.0 browsers and 40 polyphonic ringtones.

T-Mobile is expected to brand the SGH-E715 with its local in the US.

Not sure if this will be launched in Japan as usually Asia means everywhere else but Japan.

I am so dreading this thing coming out. It's bad enough having kids try and send text messages, or having their phones ring in class. This will be infinitely worse, especially since classes at my school run from 4:40PM to 10:30PM - during all the prime kid TV hours. I won't hesitate to confiscate one either. I need something to do during my breaks (besides post on FG, of course)! :)
