Samsung announces handset with TV tuner
18 September 2003 -- PMN -- Samsung has announced two advanced GPRS handsets, including one featuring an integrated NTSC television tuner. The products, launched at an event in New York, will be available in the US later this month and will subsequently be launched in the US and Asia.
The clamshell SGH-P705 uses a 260,000 colour TFT display to show television pictures, which can also be captured and sent as multimedia messages. The SGH-E715, also a clamshell, has an integrated VGA digital camera and flash. Both handsets feature OLED sub-displays, WAP 2.0 browsers and 40 polyphonic ringtones.
T-Mobile is expected to brand the SGH-E715 with its local in the US.
Not sure if this will be launched in Japan as usually Asia means everywhere else but Japan.
