Kanji Quiz - Match 'em

Postby Steve Bildermann » Fri Nov 14, 2003 4:30 am

My friend Charles Kelly publishes a lot of useful web pages for teachers and students of Japanese.

Try his new Kanji matching quiz
http://www.manythings.org/fq/m/2977.html

At his site you can also learn the very useful Nagoya dialect of Japanese.

I remember you linked to this before (or at least I think it was you). Now I see some new things or parts I didn't notice before. I thought about bumping the old thread because this is easily the best Japanese Internet study guide I've ever seen. Just loads and loads of information to be studied in a very simple straightforward way. Excellent link. Thank-you very much.

No, this item is not a re-post.

I have posted about Charles and his website before but this Kanji 'match em' Quiz is a new addition.

See: http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4381&highlight=kanji+quiz

I discussed this type of 'match em' quiz with him a couple of months ago with him and he just got it done.

I'd love to meet Charles one day and chat about Japanese learning tools and resources!!

I have played around on his site often and find it very useful.

I really like some of the stuff he does. He seems to have a real passion which is something I really respect.

Is he ever in Tokyo? Otherwise, I will try to make a trip to Nagoya soon.

meh, decent site... went through ~70 rounds and finished up just above 90%... there are some annoying bugs though that keep popping up in the kanji matching. multiple definitions for the same thing, blank tiles, other stupid things like that.

I went up to about 27 rounds and pulled down a 65%, but I haven't studied Japanese since college.. even though I have been here nearly 3 years. :D I'd say that is decent enough for me.

meh, i admit that there was a decent amount of kanji there that i didnt know, but the meanings were pretty obvious most of the time given the radicals :P

2:30 in the morning...81 rounds...still 100%...must sleep... :( :)

Even with 100%, I learnt a few new words. I think Mr. Kelly deserves a round of applause for this site.

GomiGirl, be glad to meet you next time you're in Nagoya. Like to meet you sometime too Mr. Bilderman .
