Violent monkey escapes from cage in Shizuoka
Japan Today | Monday 24th January 2011---A monkey escaped from its cage Monday in a park in Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture, three months after it was captured for reportedly biting, scratching and jumping on more than 100 people in the area...The Japanese macaque named Lucky escaped in the morning when a worker entered the cage for cleaning...more...

Apparently the circumstances of the monkey's arrest were somewhat suspicious. It is believed there may have been accomplices. A pheasant and a dog were seen fleeing the scene, both also carrying kibidango and heading in the direction of Onigashima.

It is also believed that there may be a "string puller" involved. The police have released this sketch of the suspect:

The bag on the suspect's belt may contain more kibidango, which the suspect is said to have purchased from a foreigner in Roppongi.
