And karate, prominently featuring one of the biggest Mr. Miyagi wannabe charlatans the island has to offer (and the competition is fierce). They did have a young guy near the end of the episode who better represented the attitude of a lot of young and middle aged residents, but they should have used that as a segue from the old worn out image of Okinawa to the vibrant youth scene, the restaurant scene away from the tourist traps and base gates, the transition from despised backwater to the Okinawa boom. Instead we got a museum puff piece.
