Just about THREE WEEKS Missing - since Weds. May 22

Postby Marked Trail » Tue Jun 11, 2013 11:36 am

The party line of "Extraordinary sensitivity and judgement is requested" is starting to crack as it becomes increasing bizarre to ask everyone to stop wondering WTF happened...

That's the idea.
I would not know but I assume the iPhone is brain-damaged and does not support 24-bit PNG format (which is ideal for displaying text images). Here's a JPEG and URL.

A plain text post of this would link back to FG, and the "party line' is we are supposed to be quiet and not talk about the sad situation.
(Their advice of calling the J-police if information is known will only result in the well-meaning caller being grilled and treated like a criminal by the police. )

If they have an idea of what's happened, they might not want people wasting their time and effort trying to find him but still want to keep it quiet because it's embarrassing or could hurt his business.

Dear friends,
I have just spoken to Garin's wife on the phone. She contacted me, because she was very concerned, due to posts added here yesterday, that people think that not enough is being done to find Garin. This is frankly not the case at all. There are many professional people involved, who are working on this and advising his family.
Many on FVJ have wondered about whether the police have checked his passport, telephone records and bank accounts. The hard reality is that to do this, legal procedures have to be completed first. These laws are designed not as hurdles, but to protect an individual's privacy. For the police to gain access to this sensitive information, it takes time and patience.
Indeed, patience is what Garin's wife is asking from us. She told me that she deeply appreciates everyone's concern and willingness to help, but please trust that his family are doing everything they can.
Again, I request that everyone please show extraordinary sensitivity and judgement. This is the best way we can help his family, at this time.

3 weeks to gain sensitive information about one's missing spouse? Even in Japan, that seems far fetched. Still a "hang fire" on plastering Tokyo with missing posters and such? Doesn't make much sense with the info we've read. And the kicker...going missing in the middle of the day in downtown Tokyo?? WTF is going on?

The family says they got all the "professional" help they need. They want us to butt out of their business. Ok. Fine. Whatever. (Just don't expect us to not to wonder WTF happened, sheesh.)

So, what's the latest word?

a) Kidnapped & held for ransom?
b) Killed by the mob.
c) Caved in to mental pressure and/or financial problems and did a runner like this guy.
d) Killed by his wife like this case.

Or the guy left his wife. Sometimes, preggers can be hard to live with.

But I wonder why Interpol was involved.

Would he have gone straight to the airport after removing that battery from his mobile phone? Wondering where he is now? Hong-Kong, no?

Interpol was involved to make sure that he didn't go to Thailand for a x-change.

If he's here on valid visa, they wouldn't detain him. Unless of course the hand job he got constituted doing business with the Yaks and they used that new anti-gangsta law as an excuse to lock him up. Hard to deny the transaction when they've got a tissue (or mouth) full of DNA evidence. :bukkake:

That would be quite a stretch, even for Japanese cops. I can understand the escape theory but a guy of his caliber would more than likely have made it into a "business trip" and not a missing person drama. Going to be interesting to hear what the story is...
