Actually, we are swamped with poo bum and nipple pads at the moment. But watch your back of all damn things! All this bending and lifting and apartments built for midget world, backs are going out left right and centre.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.

1 in 10 students hates the idea of marriage
Mainichi Shimbun, Japan - August 8
YOKOSUKA, Kanagawa --
In a Japan where the low birthrate threatens the country's future, one in 10 students hates the idea of marriage and bringing up children ...
....Kazuhiro Hirasawa, the official in charge of the survey said. "We've really got to think about what we can do for those young people who really want to get married, but can't find anybody to marry them."

Got the word not so llong ago that the wife is preggers again. Shit I`ve been going for years without any probs, now they are popping out everywhere. I swear I don`t care about Japan`s falling birthrate. Honest. I`m not trying to reverse it.
Too much bloody work looking after kids, what with trying to figure out why they are whinging (usually sleepy, thirsty, hungry, frustrated), feeding them before stuffing one`s own face, picking up after them, entertaining them and probably the worst getting them to go to sleep, although I am getting better. Anyway the expense, the extra work, the loss of freedom and sleep are probably good reasons to think twice about having kids if you are not sure.
Me, well the jury is still out, but I`d have to say that the little princess has an admiring and very proud father.
The next one will be the last though as I have two bricks waiting to ensure it never happens again. :crazy3:

It`s been a while since the last post on this thread, but it seems to be right to get a few answers to the vexing questions regarding raising children here, mainly addressed to the men.
Does your wife expect you to help with everything but not let you have any say in how the kid is brought up i.e. sleeping habits etc?
How do you keep your cool when what is happening is so obviously wrong but she will do nothing to change the situation because it`s the way its done in Japan?
Does your wife disregard anything with regards to raising children that is not Japanese?
My wife has been driving me insane the way she lets the little one fuck around instead of sleeping when she so obviously needs it but doesn`t want me to help her sleep because she cries for a few minutes before settling down as compred to the `hopefully she`ll go to sleep on my tit` style she uses. It seems to me that having someone there is a bit distracting especially as the nipple has to be removed when bub is asleep.
And a rampaging 14 minth old kid can drive a bloke to distraction. It doesn`t do much for household harmony.

Where is your wife's mother? I'm happy to be the uncle of two lovely kids, but I don't think I'll be stepping up to be a father anytime soon.

Although my wife and I get along very well, when it comes to the kids, I am frequently told that this is Japan and that things are done differently. Mostly what bugs me is that I want the kids to help out around the house a little more. They are now 15 and 14, but they don't lift a finger. Of ocurse all the other parents do the work, but at home(Canada) I think a lot, maybe not all, parents get their kids to do some chores. Take out the garbage, do the dishes, help tidy up. Cut the grass. But if I say anything I am always told that they study so hard and always have to go to their sports club and juku, and that Canadian school life is so much easier. At which point I say, "yes that is true, why the hell do you stupid people put up with this shit and let the kids have a life". Wishful thinking. At which point I say I understand but a little helping out will benefit them when they grow up. They will be able to do things on their own.

Ours is 15 months and I know what you mean.

What about finding a quieter place at home to sleep (kitchen/dining room?), just during the week.
Otherwise, it's hard to go to work when you're sleep-deprived.

My inlaws live next door and as they own the house we don`t pay rent, which is good but bad when it comes to establishing who`s king of what castle. They also look after the little one a helluva lot which I am very grateful for, but can`t help but wonder what bad effects it might be having on the lass.
Ideally I would like to send her a fewq days a week to nursery but, as you know, my Japanese is a work in rogress and my wife just isn`t interested enough to suss out nurseries or at least to find out some that I can suss out.
I would be out of here and home tomorrow where I am used to the process and (I think) sanity usually prevails.
A further question:
What tactics have father FGs used to get round the childrearing brickwall?
