hey i`ve only been here 5 months, and my experience is limited to various places around Hokkaido..
you lot have way more experience than me, so do the japanese peoples genuinely like or dislike foreigners?
many of the teachers i work with say my opinion that they do not is wrong, that they are curious, but are scared to communicate with us, thats why they stare but don`t speak..
but going into cafes, or trains, often the stares seem nothing like curiosity and more like intense dislike, perhaps not hatred, but extreme distaste..
in london, most of the japanese peoples i met behaved completely differently than they do here... they were so friendly and welcoming...thats why i`m so shocked and dissapointed at times by the people here..
so, your thoughts are most welcome!
