An inn not for sale at firewood prices
From the Asahi Shimbun
A Tokyo real estate firm that paid 10,000 yen to Japan Post for an inn at Iwami, Tottori Prefecture, immediately resold the property to a social welfare corporation for 60 million yen--6,000 times the original price.
The corporation said it was unaware of the original selling price when it made the purchase in September 2007. "We proposed 60 million yen, which we thought was inexpensive at that time," an official said.
