An inn not for sale at firewood prices
From the Asahi Shimbun
A Tokyo real estate firm that paid 10,000 yen to Japan Post for an inn at Iwami, Tottori Prefecture, immediately resold the property to a social welfare corporation for 60 million yen--6,000 times the original price.

The corporation said it was unaware of the original selling price when it made the purchase in September 2007. It converted the property--which included a building with hot spring and about 13,000 square meters of land--into a home for the elderly. "We proposed 60 million yen, which we thought was inexpensive at that time," an official said.

The rest of the story here

I dunno. When stories come up like this I wonder whether I am looking at with incompetence or avarice.

Looks like an under table job. A bit of commission for someone in JP.
