Did you make that up, or do I just need to get out more?
Actually, that is not quite correct Hair. They do use a lot of publicity with the celebs, but will block entry to anyone with a drug conviction regardless of whether, or not, they are high profile. If they find out, through visa application or LACs that you have been busted for something as simple as weed. No visa, or entry. People with such prior convictions, either in Japan, or elsewhere, must apply for a waiver, which they frequently grant, but without which, they ain't gonna let you in town....The USA is basically the same.Screwed-down Hairdo wrote:I get the feeling that Japan targets high profile drug offenders occasionally to show the world that it will not be fucked around with when it comes to hard drugs.

Guess they're encouraging foreigners to play by Japanese rules, "What happens overseas stays overseas," and mark no convictions.
