Japan: landslide caught on camera

A huge landslide has been caught on camera in central Japan after heavy rains in the region.

The amazing footage shows a broad swathe of trees careering upright down a slope before crashing into each other...

The landslide was recorded by staff from the Japanese Ministry of Land who were inspecting the region for instability...

I saw the footage three times on the news last night and it was exciting enough to nominate the camera-holding public servant for a Pongi Prize for "Best Raw Video" (unless I've misunderstood what's meant by that category). The nominee was on the road just to the right of, and mind-numbingly close to, the missing section.
