Its just sad really. Any girl at that age that has photos of those type taken and published is being abused in some way. Wheither it is by a mother pushing her to do it, an agent promising fame, or the girl thinking its cool.
Its sad really, i feel sorry for her.

AO, the ancient Greeks liked to get with little boys, one of the various excuses that NAMBLA uses today to support their desires.

Maybe the girl is just enjoying the attention and the only ones doing her any harm are the puritans filling her head with the idea that it's bad bad bad

I'm about as far from a puritan as you can get AK... But come on man, she's 11 years old!

She is probably enjoying the attention, but at 11 she likely has no real idea what kind of attention she is generating.

I'd say that we are learning a lesson on the thinking of some members of FG.....

If you weren't such a regularly-posting member, this would clearly be a clear attempt at trolling.

You said similar crap (i.e. "Fugly!") on the thread about the Nisei Week beauty queens.

When will you grow up and quit criticizing other people's looks?

Dude, that's the oldest argument in the book, and people keep using it incorrectly in today's context. But I would just second what GuyJean said.

Also, I'd like to see how open minded you'd be about a big hairy 30-something guy like me marrying and banging "your" 12 year-old daughter. I don't think you'd be too happy. I know I wouldn't be.

Making it personal doesn't make it an argument. No dude wants to think about his daughter getting banged. Doesn't matter the age....11, 16, 21, 30..

I think there is a big difference between an 11yo daughter and one who is 21.

My daughter is 5 now. At 11 I would be damn angry if she ended up being made use of like this girl is. At 21 though...Well, it would be her life at that time and what she wants to do with it will be her call. I might not like it, but I'd bite my tongue and let her do what she wants.

I thought it was rather clever of the Japanese to distract the Chinese with this; suddenly the Chinese are too busy praising her beauty to participate in anti-Japanese demonstrations...

From the JT article:
"They copied photos onto an anti-Japanese site to see what kind of reaction they'd get," the source says. "They put up the usual photos of porn and animals, but when someone posted a photo of Saaya, many Chinese went for it hook, line and sinker."

Shortly after the photo and message were posted, the number of anti-Japanese postings rapidly declined, largely replaced by messages praising the girl's loveliness.

According to the JT article, "...So how does Saaya feel about all the commotion? A bit frightened, actually, an official at her talent agency says .

"She had a worried look on her face and said, 'I'm shocked. I wish they'd stop,' " the official quotes the starlet as saying when hearing the news. The official added that Saaya finds it hard to believe that she has played any kind of role to smooth bilateral relations...

First of all, I was only half serious when I posted that (thought there is definitely some truth to it). How was I critisizing her looks? I said she was cute. As for talking shit about the beauty queens, they are putting themselves up to be judges based on how they look. That makes them fair game, PERIOD! Here's a fact about the world, for better or for worse, looks matter. CEOs in the US are taller than the average man. A beautiful woman is more likely get hired for a job. Fat people tend not to move up in the corporate world as quickly as equally qualified fit people. Here's another shocker. Most people I know, male or female, talk shit about other people's looks. It has nothing to do with how grown up a person is.

Sisters Give Birth at 12, 14, 16
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4572219.stm
Three schoolgirl sisters have given birth aged 12, 14 and 16.

The Williams sisters, who live with their mother in a council house in Derby, feature in a BBC3 documentary called Desperate Midwives.

Because left-wing thinking has made them feel that they're entitled to have society raise their kids for them.

Or right-wing religious conservatives have taught people that sex is evil and they shouldn't talk about it.

This brings up a good question: Among which group is teen pregnancy more common? Left-wing orgy seekers, or right-wing Jesus freaks?

I've heard, though I haven't seen the statistics so I don't know if it's true, that teen pregnancy is highest in the Bible belt. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean it's because of religious fundamentalism

I've heard that too.. Fundamentalism may not be the reason, but the religious tend to replace reality with faith..

I guess I was thinking socioeconomics. The Bible belt tends to be poorer and less educated wich is the kind of environmen that seems to go hand-in-hand with teen pregnancy. I've also read that kids who are raised attending "church" (meaning any kind of religious service) on a regular basis start having sex at an older age and are less likely to get pregnant.

What does that have to do with people not taking responsibility for their kids?

I don't disagree that there are far too many parents who take little or no responsibility for their kids.

About sex though, often it seems to be people's own embarrassment about the subject that stops them from taking up the topic with their kids. In many western countries that embarrassment is created by religious conservatives preaching that sex is evil.

That's kind of what I meant by my 'reality is faith' comment; rather than parents and teachers educating about sex and pregnancy because it's considered evil, it's left to the wisdom of teen curiousity.. ;)
