I am almost certain that the Shogi master doesn't give two cents about the "Guest Houses"... it's the classic amateur debate tactic of hiding behind an "expert". If Joe Sho-chu put out a flyer spouting this garbage, people would throw it in the trash without reading it... so he projects his words into the mouth of someone respectable.

As someone said on that thread, the best thing to do is have someone Japanese contact the Shogi master and ask if he agreed to have his image used in this manner... if I'm right, the guy will be outraged that someone used his likeness in this way. Next step: get the press involved, using the angle that someone is abusing this famous Japanese shogi master to push their own agenda...

I HAVE been in touch with Torahiko Tanaka, the Shogi Master and spokesman for the folks opposing the complex where Ilive in Sendagaya 4 Chome. He consented to meet with me and privately "apologized" stating he wishes he wouldn't have consented to the slanderous handbill resulting in one ALT resigning from Sendagaya Elementary School and upsetting several hundred foreigners teaching and working professional jobs in Tokyo. HOWEVER, he clearly stated he was not speaking for the group he represents.
