English teacher busted for switching CD price tags
OSAKA -- A teacher who changed the price tag on a CD at a music store in an attempt to pay a few hundred yen less has been arrested, police said Monday.
The educator, a 44-year-old English teacher at a municipal elementary school in Ikeda, Osaka, was arrested on suspicion of attempted fraud. He has reportedly admitted to the allegations.
Investigators said the teacher removed the 1,990 yen price tag from a classical CD at the Shinsaibashi branch of music retailer HMV in Osaka at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, and replaced it with another 1,590 yen tag.
