I have not lived in Australia for so long, I have no idea what is current or correct in Strine - but this is just how I have always said something that I have built.
But as most people know, I am often wrong about stuff..

Different meaning if the object is a person, of course.

Ya - true.
But to be honest, I just typed "knocked up" without thinking so it must be what I have always said. It could be wrong and I have been making a complete arse outta myself for the last 40 years. Thinking about it, "knocked out" is more common I guess. Perhaps our resident Strine expert can weigh in on this one.

She's not dead but she had to have a double mastectomy.

Coligny,
To get things back on topic using Google maps via Safari on the iPhone sucks balls big time so once again your point is a failure.

iNflation: Americans Spend Less On Food, Movies To Pay For Soaring Cell Phone Obsession
As America's mania with cell phones as an aspirational status fad hits new records every day, this borderline addiction to "thinner, longer" mobility and a sub-1 year upgrade cycle, is starting to extract its pound of flesh: average cell phone bills that have risen by over 10% in one year (from $1,110 to $1,226), even as total household spending rose by half, or $67. In a word: iNflation. It gets worse. As the WSJ reports, "spending on food away from home fell by $48, apparel spending declined by $141, and entertainment spending dropped by $126." Like a true faux status/gadget junkie, Americans don't care what other discretionary items are cut, even such "American staples" as eating out and watching movies, just so they can keep up with all the other Joneses sporting a brand new iPhone X+1, while everyone's credit card bill just gets larger and larger, and the collective wealth evaporates.

FTFY. Try Google Chrome for iPhone.

Apple cripples 3rd party browsers by:
- Forcing all browsers on the iPhone to use Safari's rendering engine.
- Not allowing users to select the default browser of their choice. Click on a link in Mail and it will always open in Safari.
- Blocking 3rd party browsers (and all other 3rd party apps) from the high-speed "Nitro" JavaScript engine
Nothing can be done about #1 unless Apple decides to allow proper 3rd party browsers (zero chance really).
If your iPhone or iPad is Jailbroken though you can fix #2 and #3 yourself:
#2 is fixed by the free Cydia app BrowserChooser. Add the repo rpetri.ch/repo and then search for BrowserChooser.
#3 is fixed via a 99cent paid app from Cydia called Nitrous. Just search and buy.

FG Lurker wrote:Been thinking about my above "SJ and the Maps debacle" comment.
SJ let "mobile me" be released and that was a colossal turd. Add in things like Apple's Ping social network failure and it starts to look like Apple really isn't that good with web services. They do the iTunes store well but that's more an eCommerce site than a web service so I don't think it really counts.
It's definitely an area where Google performs far better than Apple does.
