Japanese document name?

Postby Mike Oxlong » Mon Apr 10, 2006 2:51 pm

Please - what is the Japanese name for "letter of separation", sometimes also called a "certificate of release". As I understand it, you are supposed to receive one of these after you leave a company.

"rishokuhyo"

You MUST get one of those forms and the company is required by law to give it to you. Many (most?) companies who want to hire you, will need that "certificate of release".
(Occasionaly, a former employer generally a demented shacho will not issue "certificate of release" as a trick on baka gaijin. Don't fall for this...just ask the company's accounting person for the form which they know is required by law for them to issue.
