Japanese DVD Of Obama Inaugural Address

Postby Mulboyne » Thu Jan 22, 2009 7:06 pm

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Goma Books claims to be the first company to release a Japanese version of President Obama's inaugural address, offering it as both an audio CD and a DVD. The CD, for 1,000 yen, also includes his victory speech on election night while the DVD version, at 2,079 yen, adds his keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention as well as his August 2008 speech accepting the party's nomination as presidential candidate. The Mutant Frog blog has some details of other Obama-inspired goods and services including a link which offers a free text translation of his inaugural address. Goma Books might be jumping the gun a bit with their claim to be first-to-market with the DVD however: a note on their website says they are taking orders now but won't begin shipping until the 30th January which seems to leave a small window open for another opportunist publisher.

I wholeheartedly got tired with Jap's naiveness.
Obama government, in reality Clinton (Chinese agent!!!) one, is ruthlessly pro-Israel and pro-China. And it will absolutely carry out a conversion to new dollar or Amero. Little-by-little-stored-by-Japanese fortunes are instantly gone out....

Japanese Use Obama's Speeches To Learn English

Aspiring English speakers in Japan have made President Barack Obama's book of speeches and accompanying CD a national best-seller.

In Aichi, central Japan, a Buddhist monk has reportedly been playing the president's speeches during his temple service. And dozens of students in an English-language class in Tokyo have been memorizing his 2004 Democratic Convention speech to improve their understanding and pronunciation.

"Tonight is a particular honor for me because, let's face it, my presence on this stage is pretty unlikely," the students at Kaplan Japan school recited together Friday.

"The Speeches of Barack Obama" has sold 420,000 copies since its release on Nov. 20 _ an "unprecedented huge hit" for an English-language text, according to publisher Asahi Press.

Any book that sells more than 100,000 copies in Japan, which has a population of 128 million, is considered a success, and foreign-language publication sales rarely exceed 20,000, the publisher said.

Obama's book of speeches surged to No. 2 in Japan's main best-seller list this week, according to Hiroki Tomatsu, an official of Japan's largest book distributor Tohan Co. that publishes the ranking...

Don't you find it interesting that such a trade dependent country as Japan is so fired up over a guy who ran for office under a policy of revisiting the trade treaties to revise them inward (for the labor vote) and most recently was trying to initiate a "Buy American" campaign (until his people got threatened out of it by the EU). Yet the Japanese want to canonize him.....
