There's something I think could be classified under "reverse engrish" in the food court of my local mall :
1.Why would a restaurant want to call itself "soy sauce Japan"?
2. The circle thingie is gibberish, and is not a hiragana, katakana, or kanji to my knowledge. And then next to it is the hiragana for "ma"... puzzled I am.
edit: and I know it's not a franchise by the way, I looked.
Answer: most japanese resturaunts/sushi bars in my city are Korean owned. (Nothing implied against that, other than the misuse of Nihongo.)
