Is anyone a fan of South Park? If so, try the Chinpokomon Espisode. It pokes (a little) fun at Japan/fads.
Hilarious.

I was about 21 when I made "American History." I had a roommate who
was Japanese and used to explain American history to me all the time,
and I was like, "That's the most fucked-up thing I've ever
heard. I've got to amimate something to that." I was in animation
class at Colorado U, and it came tio be the end of the term and the
history professor was like, "You need to write an essay," and I was
like, "Oh, cn't I do a little animated thing instead?" and like,
"Okay." I just turned the tape recorder on and told this guy
[roomate], "Tell me about American history," and he just went off. Of
course, I waited unti]
and then stayed up all night and did that piece of [expletive] .... I
got this announcement out of nowhere about months later that I'd won
a student academy award for it.
