Fucked National Pension number

Postby rooboy » Thu Apr 27, 2006 7:43 pm

So I have a friend who left Japan and got his refund for the pension. He was in Shakai Hoken - different to my pension situation. I've belonged for some time to Kokumin Kenko Hoken and I pay the national health insurance plus the pension amount together.

No real worries there. But it sucks that I can't work out what my National pension number is let alone my basic pension number. My friend hasn't got a clue because he got some expert to do the paperwork for him and his Japanese was and is non existent.

I can read some kanji but I sure as hell can't work out which out of the seemingly endless numbers on my Kokumin Kenko Hoken booklet of four pages which is for Health Insurance I think, refers to my National Pension number. To make shit worse, there is absolutely no kanji referring to Nenkin on this 4 pg booklet or the payment booklet which I use to pay manually. (No bank transfers for me thanks!).

Yep, my Japanese aint great but I can read Nenkin and even in the space referring to my 14,000 per month pension payments there aint no Nenkin kanji there. If there was something like Nenking bango I would understand it's my pension number but as there's nothing like that I don't know diddly squat.

My friend said the form for the pension refund he used has a space for 10 numbers with the first 4 being separated by a - and the other digits taking up the 6 places after. I just can't find a no. on my four page booklet nor on my payment voucher booklet that corresponds.

I don't even know if I was supposed to get a separate pension booklet or notice with a number on it when my employer enrolled me at the ward office a few years back. Can anybody help with this? Preferably somebody in the Kokumin Kenko Hoken scheme paying both the NHI and pension cause they'll know what to look for! In anticipation, heaps of thanks!
