Yeah we've thought about Vancouver but I haven't been able to land a secure gig there. In Japan we wont have anything to worry about cash wise, like I mentioned elsewhere the condo is waiting for us and I can continue to do my job from a remote station, so I can still make hot canadian dollars and work lazy canadian hours

From the horror stories I've heard about claims on real estate, vehicles, etc. and the "gaman shite" health insurance issues I've had the past few years, I'd feel safer stockpiling $$ in foreign bank accounts than paying a Japanese insurance company.
