Just don't try! That'll get you back up here faster! Sure went by quick though, didn't it!

Feels like just a month or two ago that you got here... Time flies.

Going home can be a lot harder than coming here. You go home expecting things to be "normal". They are normal, but since you've been in Japan for a year your perception of normal is no longer the same!

I ended up traveling in Canada and the US for a couple of months after I went back. It was a rough adjustment and I had to escape from my hometown...

Good luck IPG, I hope you re-adjust to NZ soon!

Hey, what's the deal with that thread? I click and all I get is a warning that "you do not have permission to access this page...your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page.."
What's the deal, is that some sooper seekrit forum only available to Premium Users?

Ok, I got the same message, and I listened to a digeridoo (I'm sure the spelling is wrong) song before trying it again, but it still went to the "You aren't special enough to enter here." message.

You must donate some cold, hard cash before getting an upgrade to "premium" status and ascend to the highest levels of fucked-dom.

The secret to getting over Japan? Time - the longer you're home, the more comfortable you will become. But I agree that it's tough - I still want to go back on occasion, but only for shorter periods.

It's the "sooper seekrit forum" where non-cheapasses laugh our asses off at cheapass losers like you.

I don't get it. Culture shock, I mean.
I left Wales shortly after my 16th birthday for a life on the ocean wave.
I haven't been back, except for a few fleeting visits in almost forty years.
Japan has been 'home' since I swallowed the anchor.
I have no regrets to speak of.
Life's what you make it, I suppose.

I don't get it. I've been here for more than 20 years and the ONLY problem about spending a month or two in the Real World is having to come back to the Land-of-Concrete(tm)...more so when I came back last month to hot-craptacular Japanese summer. IchigoPartyGirl, please send me some that crisp, cool Kiwi air to make feel better as I play in the tub with a 20 kilo block of ice.

Yeah, I was happier after I came back overall, but I still miss you FG's and certain other elements of Japan even now. Would I trade what I am doing now for a life in Japan again? Only if I was very well paid to do it.

Does this mean I will have to take those sheets you wanted a year ago home now? They are still sitting on my office book shelf after only a year now!

Sorry, Bondi's got a "full" sign up. No more pommie backpackers or kiwis allowed in until some of the old ones go home, so you'll just have to take a number and wait. ]http://www.fuckedgaijin.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2165&stc=1&d=1155104368[/IMG]

You'll need a boat and some large digging implements.

Good luck.

Hmm unfortunately if i carve up NZ some Maori mythical creature is likely to eat us all so thats not a good idea.....
Gboothe..im sure there will be a day when they are needed, just hang onto them for a while - while you're waiting you could build a little sheet fort or something to play in.
I guess ill just have to drink and avoid weekdays!!
