Nice. I'd buy it except that the mon on the front is kind of ugly. I wonder if I could get another lacquerware maker to do me a custom job.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. Maybe she left Japan, she was talking about getting out.

Definitely. I just don't think the gold mon on the front is as cool as the rest of the product. But I guess you can't have everything, on a mass produced product.

The Pink Mini that Mr. Sparkle bought for me last year (thanx!) before the Japan MiniPod release is now protected in a koto pick case made of obi fabric. Check out these Japanesque geek gear cases....

Furoshiki-shiki series by Samira Boon
A furoshiki is actually a traditional Japanese way of folding a piece of cloth to a bag.....adhesive colorful vinyl to create all sorts of bags, name-card holders and ...will soon release a series for iPods. ....
The furoshiki series started, because I never really liked handbags. I found them somehow complicated and wanted to create something, that is as simple as possible, preferably out of one single piece. When I discovered the slightly adhesive, translucent material I now use for that series, the design almost followed directly.....Furoshiki-shiki opened up to be used as cover and mouse-pad

Also check out this Cordex(tm) ballistic cloth furoshiki for notebook computers....a FuroshikiBook so to speak.
