When on stage before the TV cameras, the lanky comedienne with an Osaka-accented foghorn voice frequently towers over her male counterparts, an appearance that has helped her earn the show-business sobriquet "jotei" (female emperor).
Describing popular TV entertainer Akiko "Akko" Wada as a Japanese Carol Burnett would not be far off the mark.

She's married now I think, but she's never lived in the same house as her spouses. Her Korean connection hs been known for some time and most Japanese say that 30% of entertainers in Japan are Korean.

Strange experience: I used eat in the same French place as Wada-san in Akasaka and the chief told me she consumes 3,000 calories most nights when she's out. Everytime I saw her she was boozing it up while shoveling in a 9 course meal. Damn, she has one dynamic metabolism!
