AP via Canada.com: Argentine dancers sweep stage and ballroom top prizes at tango championships
The tango dancers came from around the world, but a teenage couple from Argentina won first prize early Monday in the crowning stage event at the third annual World Tango Championships. Hernan Cornejo, 19, swept his 18-year-old partner, Maria de Los Angeles Trabichet, off her feet during a fast-moving number that won them repeated applause and the top prize worth about $2,000 Cdn. Ryo Ikemoto and his wife, Chie, of Hyogo, Japan, took second prize in the final event of this year's championships, which saw nearly 400 couples compete...more...
I'm not sure whether "Chie" is right since Ryo Ikemoto always seems to be dancing with someone called "Hazuki". I suppose it could be just her stage name. He teaches tango at the Osaka Mainichi Bunka Centre. And more cheaply at the Osaka City Academy in the mornings. Or try his Alma de Tango Academy

AFP: Japanese couple wins tango competition in Argentina
A Japanese couple has won the Seventh World Championship of Tango, dethroning Argentina, whose dancers have dominated the contest for years. Kyoko and Hiroshi Yamao, aged respectively 33 and 36, were teary-eyed as they received their top prize late Saturday. The married couple has been making its way to the top of these championships for several years. In 2007, they surprised judges and the public by making it to sixth place in the salon tango competition The Yamaos won the hearts of the public and the jury during the semifinals on Friday when they scored 8.65 points, the highest rating given that day by the judges. This year's competition was disappointing for its Argentine hosts, who have traditionally won all top honors: second place also went to foreigners -- a couple from Colombia.
