crusty

What's the deal with Japanese bread?

I found half a loaf (1/8 of a real loaf) stashed away in the corner of the cupboard yesterday. Must have been at least 2 weeks old. Now isn't bread meant to got mouldy after a week? At the very least it should become a little stale. This bread seemed almost fresh. :?

Just what is this evil stuff they call bread here?

I have alerted the appropriate authorities.

http://janus.state.me.us/legis/statutes/17/title17sec1032.html

Cruelty to birds is a Class D crime. If the State pleads and proves that, at the time a violation of this section was committed, the defendant had been convicted of 2 or more violations of this section, section 1031 or essentially similar crimes in other jurisdictions, the sentencing class for the crime is one class higher than it would otherwise be. For purposes of this subsection, the dates of the prior convictions must precede the commission of the offense being enhanced by no more than 10 years, although both prior convictions may have occurred on the same date.

The grease (toxic waste and No 4. bunker oil) added to supermarket and 7-11 bread here is a great preservative.

Lucky for us FG that in major urban areas the upscale bread shops are more than "just fine". Just avoid the dread anko-pan---perfectly good bread deceptively filled sweet bean paste the color and taste of diabetic baby poop.

Taste This!
In ancient times, before the invention of urine test strips and instruments that determined blood glucose levels, physicians had to do a "taste test" to detect the presence of sugar!

Very noble of you to volunteer to do this test Taro, but you took the wrong sample.
