just a rant... feel free to ignore

Postby etto_neh » Wed Sep 07, 2005 5:41 pm

So a couple of guys put on masks and take a couple of fire extinguishers to a gaggle of chirping schoolgirls (i'm guessing) one morning. At first I kinda groaned because this made news, then I thought, wow, this sorta thing would make big news in the US too. People are just so scared of white, floaty things in the air.

If I were Mr. Keisatsu, the first Q I'd ask would be "OK, which of you girls has pissed off a guy the most recently?" and then we'd probably find the assholes within the hour. (The guys, not the girls'..... )

Anyway- how many were killed by Aum? Less than 10? How many were killed by Anthrax in the US? Less than 10... (any? don't remember).

Anyanyway- We need better stories here in Japan. We FGs could do a great service here. Since we're unusual anyway, it wouldn't be difficult to create media-worthy stories. Think 'guerilla theatre'...

"2 Foreigners arrested in Osaka for buying Children train Tickets saying they are 'Kids at heart'".

"Foreigner fired for Smirking at student at major Eikaiwa" (True story)...

From my experience, a chemical extinguisher should not cause nausea and sore eyes. Generally, it will just white you up like the Pilbury Doughboy.

More likely they were using some kind pepper spray or another noxious agent. :?

Well, who knows what's next for us. Several folks here on the FG including me "just" missed the AUM gassing.

Nervous Japan on guard before poll
themercury.news.com. Sept 7, 2005

SECURITY has been ramped up across Japan to thwart any threat of attack ahead of a weekend general election.

Across the country, thousands of police, using sniffer dogs and bomb-detection equipment, have been mobilised in preparation for the poll.

Officials at the National Police Agency (NPA), which oversees Japan's nearly 250,000-strong police force, said there had been no concrete signs of any imminent attacks on Japan by international extremists such as al-Qaeda.

But the deadly attacks in London on July 7 and Madrid bombings in March 2004 - only three days before a general election - show that vigilance is needed, they said.

"We need to keep in mind that international terrorism targeting a period that garners a lot of political attention ... or a major political event is a possibility," said Takashi Sugimoto, deputy director for the NPA's security division.

"We need to be firmly on guard ... so that our general election period will not be targeted," he said.

The attacks on London trains and a bus killed 52 people and disrupted a summit of world leaders that was being held in Scotland, while the train bombings in Madrid killed 191 people.

To prevent similar attacks on Japan, police are tightening security at public transportation hubs around Japan.

No terrorists, just teenagers

Postby dimwit » Fri Sep 09, 2005 10:14 am

They police have arrested three teens (yawn) for the fire extinguisher attack on 66 middle school students.

Girl, 15, arrested over fire extinguisher attack

A 15-year-old girl has admitted to letting off fire extinguishers at middle school students on a road near their school on Wednesday in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, police said.

Sixty-six students were injured in the attack, including some who received eye injuries.

The girl is a third-year student of Takakura Middle School, the same school as those injured. The police have arrested her on suspicion of assault.

On Wednesday night, the police arrested an 18-year-old decorator from Fujisawa on suspicion of a series of car thefts, including that of the car used in the attack.

The boy, who graduated from the same school, also is being questioned on suspicion of assault...

On Wednesday, the boy--who does not have a driving license--drove the stolen minicar while the girl sprayed the fire extinguishers, according to the police. The two allegedly stole five fire extinguishers near the school just before the incident, the police said.

The two were quoted as saying they did it as a prank and sprayed the students on the spur of the moment.

Fire extinguishing was one of the great joys of my formative years, but there are rules and a certain decorum about it:

1. Don't use chemical extinguishers. People are much more likely to be peeved about it.

2. Don't steal five extinguishers, if you only need one. It only drawer unneccessary attention to situation. Water extinguisher also have the advantage here in that they are refillable so you don't need five of them.

3. Do not commit other serious crimes (such as car theft) in the process of commision of the prank.

These kids felt no remorse in doing so and what we are seeing is a moral degeneracy in the youths today. Just go to Shibuya (my backyard) and you'll see a whole load of these youths hanging out on street corners. Sure, they make the extreme and very minority example of the Japanese youths but it is scary to note that these will eventually breed and produce more fucktards like themselves. This seems to be where Nippon is heading and this is what really bothers me about this story.

I am not trying to sermon for a moral justification or refinement because I have had my share of "bad" in the past, but what I want from everyone is a little more respect for the others and hold accountable for their actions.. something Nippon lacks from the politicians and leaders at the very top to the people on the very bottom.

If they even tried to spray shit on me like that, I would kick their teeth in and break their faces.

Fire extinguishing was one of the great joys of my formative years, but there are rules and a certain decorum about it:

I think we went to the same school, as it was a core curriculum course in my school]five[/b] extinguishers, if you only need one. It only drawer unneccessary attention to situation. Water extinguisher also have the advantage here in that they are refillable so you don't need five of them.

All pertrators are now required to have two extinguishers in their possession at all times. The second is a mandatory back-up should you run out of water while drenching the bastards! Pilfering of only one extinguisher, or three or more will be delt with by severe punishment.

3. Do not commit other serious crimes (such as car theft) in the process of commision of the prank.

A recent change to the law allows for minor incidents of rape, pillage and plunder to be considered acceptable if deemed incidental to and necessary for, the carrying out the prank in a proper and timely manner.

Please update your protocols and notes for this activity accordingly.
