Hey all, first time poster. However, I have been reading FG for over a year. Always amused. ALWAYS amused. But enough love for y'all.
Have a great job at an International Kindergarten that provides me a certain level of autonomy (but not an official International School...you know the kind, they hire Education majors, not people with just a TEFL certificate) in teaching 3 year old kids. It is a well known and well-respected kindergarten within Kyushu. Have a two year contract that ends April 2007. Am also seriously involved with a Japanese woman near my age (29). Have two Degrees, BS - Marketing and BA - English, as well as a TEFL Certificate. Have a car, and have cheap rent. Have no intention of going back to the US. Have a long-term goal of earning enough money to emigrate to a Latin/South American country (2nd language is Spanish), but more interested in making that money here, mainly due to the availability of employment, and the level of compensation and benefits provided to FG here. My current situation is optimal, for now, but I want to continue on an upward trend. I am very pleased on how well things have been going.
Now, if things go well, I have the option to extend my contract with my current employer, and (as always, barring certain situations) if I marry the girl, I can always get a spousal visa and do part-time work as a priest (because I have always been able to memorize a script, no matter the language), but I am thinking about my (tentative) five year plan and would like to make sure I am aware of all possibilities out there. Plus, I would like to pick the brains of FG members to see their advice. Yoroshiku...
So, my request is for help in locating international-type kindergartens, and just overall opinion about some of the best options for a person in my position.
I thank you all. I am pleased to finally be posting, and I look forward to hearing your opinions...
Have a website as well...http://www.japanagogo.com. Will respond to all replies. Thanks.
