However I will need a keitai when I go back to Jap, so i guess i should pay up eh? I intend to pay the bill, just, uh, i need to cough up the dosh.

So how long before they blacklist me, send the yakuza boys and not let me get another contract ever ever again?

I left Japan with an unpaid k-tai bill before. I was away for about 3 years.. Just save your bill and pay it once you return. You should be able to get a new phone the same day. Either that, or buy a new hanko..

they usually black list u after about 3 months or so -

even if u try to get a new phone with a different company they wont let u as as all the phone companies are 1 big group when it comes to black listing....

Try walking into a US cell shop and purchasing a non-prepaid phone + activation contract with no ID. Why would it be any different here?
