It sounds like a recipe for a dining disaster. The benches are bottom-achingly hard, diners are forced to eat elbow to elbow with strangers and starters frequently arrive after the main course. Yet despite its unconventional approach to eating, the bustling budget noodle chain Wagamama yesterday beat some of the most famous restaurants in the country to be named the capital's best eating place...Wagamama, which means "naughty child" in Japanese, was founded in 1992 by the Michelin-starred Alan Yau and now has 34 branches across the country.
