Rejoining the Ranks of FG

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Mon Sep 19, 2005 1:46 am

After 4 years (not including a 6 week visit in 02), I'm returning to Japan. What the hell am I thinking?

I'll be in Tokyo a week later. Also for study. I'll be sure to buy a couple of pink shirts to wear around town in case I ever bump into you.

That's old school! The new "In job" is knocking over Seven Elevens, although you better get into that quick as they are unionizing and you may have to be Chinese to apply for future openings.

Yeah, Yokohama is the right place to be. Tokyo is close enough by train to be accessible, but you don't have to live in that shithole.

Tokyo isn't bad, if you enjoy living in the remnants of 12 million screaming nutcases that pass for Edojin.

Think Akihabra. Think Uyoku. Think Nagatacho.

Yokohama is paradise compared to the concrete wasteland known as Tokyo.

Speaking of Tokyo, do you know how hard it is to get Tokyo FG's to come down to Yokohama for a visit? Jesus, you'd think I was asking them to come to Hyogo-ken or some other related backwater...

Ya, movement is usually from Yokohama to Tokyo. Tokyoites can't be bothered to come this way.

If they came to visit Yokohama, they'd be ex-Tokyoites.

The reality is that there are far fewer jobs for FG's in Yokohama than there are in Tokyo, so I understand why they suffer in concrete hell.

Well, it makes more sense for 1 FG to come to Tokyo than to make 10 FGs take the pilgrimage all the way to Yokohama just to see your lazy ass.

Just kidding, dude. I would've come had I stuck around the concrete wasteland.

Yokohama may not have everything Tokyo has, but it does have one thing Tokyo doesn't:

Taro's chili! :D

In regards to the Edo-vs-Hama debate: Yokohama is just another concrete buttplug, just like the rest of Japan.

Ah, but we have Zushi, Chigasaki, and Yamate. Tokyo has... Roppongi Hills? Tokyo Tower?

Downtown Yokohama is concrete hell, no doubt. I guess the difference is that the nice places are closer to the city center than Tokyo's are.

Yeah, plus you guys work outrageous hours (so do I, but I live near work), and after a trip down here you'd have about an hour before needing to leave again.
