Don't suggest that I have no idea what it is like. I lived through Hurricane Andrew and remember quite well what it was like. It took a week for the first Bush to get any help to us. I still remember tent city. Most homes in my area were totally gone. I was one of the lucky few that still had a roof. There was very little food to go around. My father ended up sending me away to family out of Miami for a while. I cannon forget the flooding, wind, and lack of water and food I had to deal with. I know what they feel and I posted the Jackson story because I think it is the most stupid way for him to try to sell a song.

I'm sorry about your experience about Hurricane Andrew. But I also agree with you about the song Michal Jackson is trying to sell. To me, I think it's one of the worst tricks any musician has done. Why I say any musician is b/c I know the damn song is gonna have more than one music artist in it (e.x. u2, modonna, nelly, jarule ect..) and the list goes on. Pretty sick, but they'll do anything for more money.

From the horse's mouth..
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/08/20050827-1.html
Statement on Federal Emergency Assistance for Louisiana

The President today declared an emergency exists in the State of Louisiana and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts in the parishes located in the path of Hurricane Katrina beginning on August 26, 2005, and continuing.

The President's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives, protect property and public health and safety, or to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the parishes of Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Claiborne, Catahoula, Concordia, De Soto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Pointe Coupee, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Helena, St. Landry, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Webster, West Carroll, West Feliciana, and Winn.

Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, will be provided at 75 percent Federal funding.
But nobody came...

Maybe they went to the wrong counties....

I wonder if the red counties are truly 'red' counties..

Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Certainly correct. Any fisherman as a courtesy, should identfy the lure he was using, like a Roppolo 66 or so forth. Bush should be ashamed.

Astrodome: Within two minutes of AFP photographer Stanly Honda electronically publishing a photo of Katrina victim Latesha Vinette holding up her Red Cross debit card, Ms. Vinette was paged by the management of Reliant stadium to receive a call from Mastercard asking about cash advances totally $65,237, the attempted purchase of a Ferrari automobile using her card #, along with hundreds of purchases from eBay, including, ironically, camping gear.
