DoCoMo spills beans ahead of launch

The Register, Monday 26th September 2005 11:15 GMT
... i-mode creator NTT DoCoMo, somewhat stealing the thunder from O2's official launch, which takes place this afternoon.
O2 will offer the service via four handsets, two from NEC and two more from Samsung. According to DoCoMo, they are the NEC N411i and N343i, and the Samsung S500i and Z320i...more...

5 years later

anyone used these phones? ive been googling for reviews - a couple were released the beginning of the year - and are said to be pretty standard fare... youd think they try to make a big impression and offer some decent handsets ... say like the ones in Japan!?

ive never used imode (just watched) - is it similar to or the same as AU's ezweb?

I have an I-mode phone in Europe - being able to use msn messenger constantly is a tremendous feature. I am awaiting an I-mode phone compatible with Skype 8)

I will arrive in Tokyo in October to commence a post-graduate degree.
