Gov't to OK fixed-line, mobile phone service with single numberTOKYO, Sept. 27 KYODO
The government is seeking to introduce a system in which mobile phones and fixed-line phones can share the same phone number as early as fiscal 2007, government officials said Tuesday.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications began to receive public opinions Tuesday on the system and a ministry panel plans to reach a conclusion by the end of the year in a bid to introduce the system in the fiscal year starting April 2007, the officials said.
