Gunshots blasted at vehicles on expressway in Wakayama
Mainichi
WAKAYAMA -- A shot was fired at a vehicle on the Hanwa Expressway in the predawn hours of Monday, smashing a hole in the vehicle's rear window, only 15 minutes before a similar incident occurred nearby, police said.

Investigators said a car driven by a 22-year-old man was passing a vehicle stopped between two lanes on the Hanwa Expressway at about 2:40 a.m. on Monday, when a shot was suddenly fired at the car.

The shot punctured the left rear window of his vehicle, but neither the man nor his 21-year-old wife was injured....more...

Drive-by shooting sparks search for gunman

TODA, Saitama -- A shot has been fired at a car from another vehicle that pulled up next to it at a national highway intersection here, police said.

At around 7:25 p.m. on Monday, a shot was fired at a car belonging to a 38-year-old Tokyo man from a vehicle that stopped on its left at an intersection on Route 17 in Toda shortly after the traffic light turned to green, according to investigators. The assailant drove away from the scene....more...

Actually there is a very gaijin-friendly shotgun shop in Torisu-daigaku, Meguro-ku Tokyo on the Toyoko line. However, Japanese ammo rules are rather strict----but not so for re-loading old shells, hee, hee.
Black power can obtained in any convenience store from summer-fun packs fireworks. Primer can be mixed up at home in small batches. Materal like tempered steel tubing and moly-steel breech blocks can be bought at Tokyo Hands along with any number of sweet little Japanese mini lathes and tooling jigs.

I wonder if a FG was involved in the shooting..

You can actually 'build' a home made shotgun if you are desperate.
I once had an improvised home-made munition book written by the u.s. army (ca. 1969) that had the exact recipe on how to build a shotgn with metal piping and some 2-by-4 for cutting out the gunstock part.

I am sure you can find something similar on the web (i.e. jolly roger cookbook) but I will take no responsibility if you are dumb enough to shoot your eye out or kill someone in the process.

Tommy, Tommy, don't give them more ideas than they need to lay it on the FG's lap. You can bet they are searching for a tie to some FG or FG group.

They don't need much to do that. When I was still with Yokota AB, they found the nude body of J-gal dumped in the mountains. The chief of the Itsukaiichi Police Station announced that it appeared to have been an FG perp. After hearing that, we made an official visit to the chief and representing the base asked him if we could be of assistance and was shown the evidence. The gal had an anklet with French engraving, therefore it was easily understandable that she had received this from an FG boyfriend who later did her in! It was such a spell binding tale of astute police deduction, we were almost ashamed to ask the next question, "you got anything else to substantiate that?"

Turned out that the gal was a bus guide and was having an affair with a married bus driver and she got pregnant so he dumped her off the cliff in Isukaiichi.

Be that as it may, the FG play on the case ran hot and heavy in the media for about two weeks and even after the hannin was arrested, there were still mutterings of whether or not the was an FG involved.

So Pops doesn't need much to pin it on you or me. Just remember that.

I just wanted to stir up a little heat in here and piss a couple of FGs in the process. I definitely pissed you off, gboothe.

I am sure no FGs were involved but it could be the act of 893..

i dont know if its true or not, but a student of mine told me that a person who runs a website only teaching how to modify those gas-propelled toy guns into a more powerful lethal (maybe only if you are a crow??) machine got arrested in tokyo yesterday... anyone know if this is true? its pretty crazy if it is, and if so, Taro better watch out on those home-made ammo instructions.

there is a gun shop way out here in wakayama too, but you need a hunting license to even step into the place... the deer in nara park better watch out next hunting season

NHK News is showing pellet gun holes in steel buckets using those super-charged airguns. Nice holes for airgun but not even half the power of 22-short used in a crappy shooting gallery.

Six air guns go missing from retail shop in Tokyo
Mainichi
Six air guns have disappeared from a retail shop in downtown Tokyo, police investigators said Friday.

Suspecting that the air guns were stolen, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) launched an investigation into the case while searching for the weapons.

An employee of a LaOX outlet in the Akihabara district of Tokyo's Chiyoda-ku noticed around noon Thursday that six air guns, worth a combined amount of about 63,000 yen, had disappeared from a shelf at its sixth floor toy department, according to MPD investigators. Mainichi
SUITA, Osaka -- An inspection of an abandoned station wagon in Osaka Prefecture found air gun pellets, which police suspect were used in the air gun shooting of two cars in September, police said.

Officers rushed to the Tsukumodai district of Suita, Osaka Prefecture, after a local resident reported a sliver Crown Estate abandoned on a road there on Monday.

The license plates of the car had been removed, but police located the owner of the vehicle from its manufacturing number.
