Some people shouldn't breed. The designers of that site (my God my eyes still hurt!) definitely fall into that category.

I havn't looked at the website, but I'm guessing it uses a rainbow motif.

Rainbow motif, ugly hard-to-read-text-on background, scrolling text, multiple bright colours, animated GIFs, all lines centered on the page. Basically the trailer-trash school of website design.

Did I fall into anyone's trap? Not at all, this is the way things should be!

Congrats! My J-wife is also pregnant with our first. I certainly didn't fall into a trap, although at least one of my commitment-phobe friends is shocked. "Don't you realize you're going to spend the next 18-24 years centered around a kid?" Um, yeah. I did get married with that realization at least somewhere in the back of my mind. It can't be worse than spending my time focused on gaijin-barhopping looking for neurotic J-birds, playing Counterstrike, compulsive music collecting, and Fucked Gaijin... :)
A note to kin: if you don't want kids, you probably shouldn't get married. It's the rare woman who can resist her biological clock, and you'd better provide some pretty attractive alternative to family life (i.e. lots of money, world travel, stuff like that).

Congrats Gizmo

I have a feeling you're not going to be giving that one up though.

Heh, heh. Luckily, I have my Japanzine stipend for three CD reviews a month, so as long as I collect ONLY Japanese music...I've got my Last.FM station to keep me busy otherwise. http://www.last.fm/user/djgizmoe
In related news, my SoCal parents are coming to Japan for that "miyamairi" business as soon as the baby is born. Which means they're coming to my wife's family's typically un-central heated home in concrete inaka...in the dead of winter. The horror... :?

AH yes, well, if I have the amount of money, and the right female, sure...but, I actually am probably going to be trying to do that kind of stuff, just not with as much as money and single. Not really planning on getting married anyways. Thanks for the tip though :D.

I meant no offense to the FG's with children. I like kids, but being a father is not my thing.

I guess this could also apply to me as well. One thing's for certain, if I ever do decide to get married, my fiancee will have to be reconciled to the fact that I don't want children. I'll definitely be getting a vasectomy before the wedding.

Tommy, I don't think you are talking to me. I have six kids that I acknowledge for inclusion in the stud book. Any others we don't mention.

I don't think that'd be a good idea. My genes for a lack of a better term
are FUCKED UP! ! I've got scoliosis, a family history of cancer, shellfish, and pennicilin allergies, I've got misshapen toes on each foot,
and I've got a deviated septum-the tip of my nose sits just to the left of where it should be. If I do change my mind, I'm going to adopt. I'm definitely NOT going to pass all that on to some poor kid.

Yeah you're right.
For the love of humanity, please don't pass those genes on.
