Negadon
is a CGI short film that pays hommage to the old kaiju movies that we all love. They even put a scratches and dust filter on the picture to have that authentic 60s feel.
The two trailers are pretty cool, the official site is in japanese.

Aintitcool.com has a piece on a new CG "Showa-style" Kaiju monster film called "Negadon" which will premiere at the Tokyo International Fantastic Film Festival starting tomorrow. The filmakers call it a "daring, foolhardy independent project".
It is the near future, in the 100th year of Showa (year 2025). The population of world is more than 10 billion, and a world-class space development project called "Mars Terraforming Project" is in process. One day, a spaceship "Izanami" crashes in Japan on the way from Mars, and it revives the monster Negadon, which was captured by the spaceship. Can the human race knock down the monster !? Under the desperate situation, a middle age man Ryuichi Narasaki rises up against the monster. He is an expert of robot engineering who lost his daughter in an accident which happened during his experiments. Now, a desperate struggle of Narasaki and Negadon begin !!

I might be a little late on this but did Negadon show anywhere past the Tokyo Film Festival?
