I once met a Japanese Immigration official at party in the outside Japan. He admitted to me that he and most of his co-workers at the end of everyday of work felt they needed to scrub and soak in for at least a hour in the ofuro to get the gaijin off of them. No telling how bad that guy beating the Ugandan must have been feeling.

Heh.. reminds me of something an ex once told me. Her brother worked for Immigration, and he explained to her the different attributes of illegal gaijin being deported. Israelis tended to be the most beligierant and nasty, while Africans were the most likely to break down and cry. Fascinating.
