Jeez, I don't know how you'd operate the machine, it looks like it has enough joints to require a crew of 20 to run it, or else you'd have to lock all but one joint at a time and gradually work it into position. That couldn't be too practical. And the claw is so far away from the cab you'd need a TV monitor to see what it was doing.
But the most obvious flaw in the system is, how the hell do you get any leverage when you're pushing at the end of a 65 meter pole?

It doesn't need to... this thing is most likely designed to just knaw away at the concrete flooring and support pillars.

My worry is whether the thing has anything to stop it from being blown over if the wind picks up when fully erected, so to speak. :bukkake:

I still think you'd need some leverage to do that, but I guess it doesn't matter since this toy is obviously not intended for practical use, it's just to show off.

Wait until you've seen it in use. Aside from some obvious risks I think it's a pretty useful machine :)

I guarantee you I will never get closer to this machine than 65 meters. 75 meters just to be safe.

That's a big machine. But that claw looks quite different in the two pictures, even if it is clenched and unclenched. I guess we need to destroy what we make or what we made before.

Yep, that's right! The claw is from an earlier SMALLER machine than the new blue machine.

Today, Boing-Boing ripped off the FG's picture and then credited the Geisha Asobi blog who reported this news one week late after the PR release. The FuckedGaijin photo of the demolition machine was not accurate since a FULL-SIZE photo of new Kobelco wrecking machine photo has not been not published yet. The black-&-white machine and the claw are from the smaller 45 meter tall demolition machine from Kobelco Construction Machinery Co.

Boing-Boing copy of the Fucked Gaijin's semi-faked photo.
