Earning Teaching Certifications

I haven't looked in to this too much, but maybe someone here knows about it....
In Japan are there many places to earn certification in TEFL/TESOL? I imagine there would be plenty considering the number of English teachers there.... And if so, are the courses leading to the certification commonly taught in English?
