Mac Safari help

Postby American Oyaji » Thu Oct 27, 2005 3:18 pm

I'm using Safari with 10.2.8

Safar will start and a browswer will open and then Safar will "unexpectedly quit"

Any suggestions on how to stop this? I have been looking for Safari's preferences but havent found them...

since tiger my safari crashes way to much.. it was rock solid in panther. But you can select "reset" from the Safari menu and that clears things up sometimes.

BTW, you might want to play with the Safari Nightly Builds. This used to involve compiling WebCore from source code, but now there's an easier way, you just download a precompiled Safari with the latest WebCore built in. It has a few rough edges, and does crash occasionally (it's still deep beta) but I've found its a LOT faster than the current official Safari release, and renders a lot of pages better. It also fakes MSIE/Win a lot better (if you enable the debug menu and change the User Agent).

Anyway, download it here, I recommend the plain vanilla version labeled "WebKit" and not the geeky SVG version, nobody uses SVG anyway.

Edit: oops, nevermind, this requires Tiger. You really oughta upgrade.
