Japan and the United States adopt a realignment plan for U.S. forces aimed at promoting greater military integration between the two nations and lessening the burden on communities hosting U.S. bases, including a reduction of 7,000 marines in Okinawa.

this is happening everywhere. In Korea there going to take on a supporting role of the military which is needed. The U.S. spends millions subsidizing the Korean military and hey that still doesn't keep Koreans from being unbelievably rude to anyone westen and in a military jacket. got side jacked by some businessmen looking for a fight while wearing a german military jacket

Sad day in Okinawa

I was thinking more a sad day for the Chamorros in Guam. They can kiss any hope of indepedence good bye.

The two sides agreed that Washington will reduce the number of marines in Okinawa by 7,000, almost halving the current number of about 15,000 in Japan by moving the headquarters of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Forces from Uruma, Okinawa, to Guam.

And in other news, 7000 more Marines are headed for Iraq.
