Gay Americans favour hybrid electric vehicles
As do transsexuals, lesbians and bisexuals
The Register, Wednesday 2nd November 2005 13:05 GMT...US gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender consumers... are "significantly more interested in hybrid electric vehicles than their non-gay counterparts".
That's according to a study by Harris Interactive ... reckons this demographic - abbreviated to GLBT - ... "Nearly three-quarters (72%) of GLBT consumers indicate they are more likely to consider purchasing a vehicle from a manufacturer that has specifically targeted automotive advertising to the GLBT community." Regarding hybrid electric vehicles, 51 per cent of GLBTs consider it worth paying the extra for the technology, compared with just 34 per cent of the non-GLBT population.
We look forward, therefore, to Toyota targeting the GLBT market with an online ad campaign declaring: "Prius: brings out the bisexual in you" or "Test drive the Prius - the car that swings both ways"....

Oiiiii, Taro yaro! Are you saying that I can't buy a hybrid unless I'm a rope skipper? Well even if I were, a hybrid probably wouldn't be the right bait to entice me out of the closet.

I do see the jest in your advertising comments, but as you know, in actuality, the gay market is a very viable consideration for any eigyo man. Their market is very much on the "trend" and affected by fads maybe even more so then non-gays, probably because of the need for identity at the individual or group level. Thus any product that can be believed to identify with gays, or the gay movement, is immediately snapped up (is that a good term for this topic?) by all that can afford it.

You already see a lot of the subtle insinuations toward gays and lesbians in a lot of commercials, even more in Nippon than the west.

IMHO

Jimmy, have a look at yourself. Since trading in the blues-mobile for the Prius:

    1. You've started wearing clean T-shirts]with white socks[/u]!

That car has effected you more than you know.

But, at least your tailpipe's cleaner

Pruck? Priubaru? Prius-Baja Mashup...

Pruck? Priubaru? Prius-Baja Mashup...
Jalopnik, August 26, 2010
[floatr]Image[/floatr]An Indiana man who runs the largest Prius recycling center in the country wanted a plug-in Prius that could match the utility of his first car, an El Camino. The results may disturb you.

[...]

When a Prius arrived in his shop "that was kicked in the ass pretty hard," Woodruff saw an opportunity. Originally considering a Honda Ridgeline rear, he quickly found a Subaru Baja coughed up from a salvage yard.

[...]

"I cant tell you how often we're driving down the road and someone will hold up a phone and take a picture," he says. As for those who might consider it a crime against beauty, he adds: "I built it for myself, and I m the only one I have to please."

(Full Story)

Well, it doesn't really look any uglier than a standard Prius... :p
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Well i one day saw a pickup Audi A4 ( B6 plateform) that was not bad at all, also some TT far from ugly. but this thing with its conflicting rooflines is not exactly a masterpiece. The problem is not the design choice... it's the lack of choice... both cars were just welded together without trying to make them look like 1 car... instead it just look like an unfortunate collision, or to stay on topic, like if a Prius was sodomised by a pickup. I m sure it can be made in a much more elegant way if the pickup side in entirely custom made out of fiberglass even while preserving the dualcab setup.

So IRL you look like Jason Priestley ? Do you have a twin sister with giganormous boobs ?

(PS... metallic red is quite cool color for this car... 99% being silver or worse... hard boiled egg white...)

Take the worst of the Prius (clunky donky hybrid technodoodle)
