Mr. Chadwick has very little insight into Japan than any other English teacher whose worked there for a few months. It is full of stereotypes and dull to read, making hard to even believe that Mr. Chadwick has ever even been to Japan. Basically this is a scam to cheat you out of your money and destroy perfectly innocent trees. Read books written by the masters, and not the half-wit also-rans.
Has anyone actually come across this book? Or "Circle Round The Sun, A : A Foreigner in Japan, Inc." by Peregrine Hodson which seems to be going for 66 cents. "Learning to Bow : Inside the Heart of Japan" by Bruce Feiler gets a better press which might explain the $4 second-hand price. Scathing reviews actually make the books sound potentially entertaining. Even allowing for p&p, I probably can't go wrong.
