Yakuza confrontation witnessed on the road from Atsugi

Postby gomichild » Sun Jan 15, 2006 10:22 pm

So tonight we are driving back from seeing GG's new apartment, almost at the outskirts of Hiratsuka on a major road full of traffic. We stop at the lights - and at the side of the road is a car with the hazard lights on, 3 not-so-upstanding citizens beating on another guy cowered on the footpath (yes they have footpaths in Kanagawa).

There was much shouting. The JBoys in the car with me just shrug and say, "Oh...yakuza".

No-one went to assist. They all just tried to get out of there as fast as possible.

It all felt a bit surreal. Maybe this is because I've just come back from a stay in Australia - where if everyone is sticking their nose into everyone else''s business. Or was I finally exposed to the underlying fear factor of getting involved with anything to do with the yaks?

Well, for one, Yakuza have guns.

Second, you were probably witnessing the punishment of someone who failed to play by the rules. AFAIK, the mob here doesn't pull random people off the street and beat on them like gangs do in the U.S.

Yeah cs I think you are right but it still felt really weird to see it out in the open.

Ichigo - well you missed out on meeting my Boy and his cute single younger brother. If that makes you feel any worse about missing out

the Yaks are shit,
Skankster used to beat the shit out of those wimpy fucks on a regular basis. Yakuza are accepted as a normal part of life in Nippon so Skanskter eventually got deported for disturbing the system and disrupting Japan's unique social harmony where the Yaks have respected position.

The big problem is the Yakuza are best pals with the J-Police, so they've got the law and the paid-off politicans on their side.

(FYI. In U.S. slang, a brother or brotha is sometimes referring to a black dude)
